Kent worked as a chemist in the Ft. Wayne area before changing careers to pursue his life-long passion of ballistics science, in Indiana and Idaho. He consulted for police departments, military, and defense contractors in his distinguished career and was known as the world’s leading authority on automatic weapons and cannons.
Kent was 66 years old at the time of his passing.
Kent is survived by his four children, Jill Porter, Chris Lomont , Molly Lomont and Lane Lomont, and stepdaughters Candy Stults and Sherri Berry. Also surviving are ex-wives Kathy Poling, Shirley Lomont, Mary Lou Holbrook, and his sister Cindy Bonham.
A celebration of Kent’s life will be held : March 31, 2012, from 2:00-5:00 PM, At the Pond Pavilion, in Franke Park,3411 Sherman Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN
